The Fondation MSH is a unique institution, thought by a few visionaries gathered around Fernand Braudel. It has been working for over 40 years towards a greater internationalisation of social sciences research, and, essential in this time of globalisation, to the understanding of the world as a whole.
Besides being a projects incubator, a knowledge producer, offering its services to everyone, including the use of its research library, the Fondation MSH invites in France more than 500 foreign researchers every year, coming from Europe, the United States of America, South America, the Mediterranean area, the Middle East and emerging countries with which it has been working for decades –Brazil, Russia, India, China.
Its activities benefit to all actors of the French scientific community, and establish synergies between researchers of all continents.
At a time when the government’s highest representatives openly express their will to promote France’s strengths, in the frame of the current high-stakes international competition, the Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme is preparing the future.
It wishes to be understood, in order to carry on as best as possible its public interest mission, in the near as well as far future.
French and foreign researchers, committed intellectuals, journalists, users of the FMSH library, research personnel,
we invite you to support the Foundation in preserving its activities in favour of research in the humanities and the social sciences.
